DEFENDANT MAKES A 34th COURT APPEARANCE

- By MARTIN NAYLOR

Knife and a cosh produced as pair brawled in street

TWO men fought in the street in broad daylight, armed with a knife and a cosh.

CCTV showed Gavin Pearson and a second man punching and kicking each other while clutching the weapons.

The 46-year-old, who has more than 30 court appearances to his name for more than 80 offences, has been remanded into custody since the incident happened three months ago, while the other man has already been dealt with through a fine.

Jailing Pearson for a year at Nottingham Crown Court, Recorder Luke Blackburn said: "There is quite a lot we don't know about here. He came to your home and is likely to have had with him a cosh.

"As a result, you badly lost your temper and ran after him. This was a public place, and anyone seeing this would have been terrified.
