HE WAS ALREADY ON A SUSPENDED SENTENCE FOR PREVIOUSLY STAMPING ON VICTIM'S HEAD

- By MARTIN NAYLOR

A FATHER-of-one sent his then partner a series of chilling messages repeating over and over that he was going to chop her up and kill her while in a drunken, jealous, rage.

Nottingham Crown Court heard how Mitchell Langon sent photographs of a knife and a knuckle duster to the victim during an afternoon of abuse against the woman.

The 43-year-old, of Bilborough, bombarded her with phone calls before barricading himself in his home when the police went to arrest him, leaving officers no option but to Taser him.

And all of the offences took place while he was the subject of a suspended sentence for “stamping” on the same victim on an earlier occasion.

Jailing him for two years and nine months, Judge Steven Coupland said: “This might have gone on for an afternoon rather than months and months, but you bombarded her with calls and messages and those messages were of the worst possible type. You threatened to kill her, her friends, her animals and that her children would be ‘left without a mother’
