DONS BRACED FOR A BACKLASH IN BATTLE TO REACH WEMBLEY FINAL
AFC Wimbledon boss Johnnie Jackson knows Notts County will come at his team with full force again in the second leg of their League Two play-off semi-final.
The Dons were victorious on the road in the first leg, with Riley Harbottle’s second-half header securing a 1-0 win at Meadow Lane to give Jackson’s side something to protect on Saturday (12.30pm).
They will return to Plough Lane confident of getting through to the Wembley final, having already beaten Notts convincingly at home when they met there in the League campaign.
They hunkered down and played on the counter away from home, with their on-loan goalkeeper Owen Goodman winning man of the match for making multiple top-class saves to keep Notts out.
Despite having the upper hand in the tie, Jackson is on guard and expects his team will have a lot more defensive work to get through on Saturday to secure the aggregate victory and progress to the final/
He said: “I thought we were very, very good (in the first leg). We had to suffer a bit and they're a good team.
“They have good players and we knew they would put us under a bit of pressure, so we had to deal with that.
