It's home, sweet home for McAtee

NOTTINGHAM Forest's hopes of snapping up Manchester City midfielder James McAtee have been given a boost.

- By SARAH CLAPSON

The 22-year-old could be on the move this summer and has a long list of admirers. The Reds are among them, having had their eye on the City man for some time.

Reports have suggested Forest are expected to step up their interest in McAtee as they target new signings for Nuno Espirito Santo's squad. And the club might just have been given some encouragement to do just that.

Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt have also been linked with McAtee. Indeed, he was said to have recently paid a visit to the latter as he assessed his options ahead of making any decision about his future.

But it seems remaining in the UK holds the biggest lure for the England Under-21 international. He has 'rejected a move abroad', according to Sky Sports, as he 'prefers' to stay in England.

Such news will no doubt be music to the ears of those at the City Ground but there are still other Premier League clubs keen on the player. West Ham United and Everton have reportedly been eyeing him up.

A stumbling block to any deal could be City's asking price. They are said to value their academy graduate in the region of £35m and could even make it clear they want to hang on to him.
