How did trespassers get into Debenhams?

A WALK ROUND REVEALS SMASHED WINDOWS AND FIRE ESCAPE
THE former Debenhams building on Long Row West has become increasingly untidy in recent years, following the department store chain's liquidation in 2021.
The demise of the huge shop and the impact it has on the surrounding area has probably never been more evident than on Thursday when a group of trespassers climbed onto its roof, resulting in a huge cordon and a standoff with police.
As the incident played out for around three hours, onlookers shared their concerns about the building's safety - or lack thereof. Parents at the Nottingham Beach also sounded the alarm on apparent access into the building, with one claiming it "needs to be given more thought".
To see how safe the building really is, we walked around the public paths by the structure to see it for ourselves.
