MIDFIELDER STAR OF THE SHOW ONCE MORE FOR THREE LIONS
NOTTINGHAM Forest star Elliot Anderson is hitting the headlines again after another impressive performance for England in the 5-0 win over Serbia.
The Forest midfielder caught the eye once again, just days after being star of the show in the World Cup qualifying victory over Andorra.
Our colleagues at The Newcastle Chronicle have now revealed the truth about rumours of a buyback clause that could take him back to the Toon Army.
Anderson was sold by United as part of a deal to try and balance out the PSR situation in a move that boss Eddie Howe and the fans were powerless to prevent.
Speaking about his exit from Newcastle, Anderson said at the time: “It was a tough move at the time but ultimately, I probably wouldn’t be sitting here now if I didn’t make the move.
“Sometimes you've got to step out of your comfort zone and believe in yourself, which is what I've done.
“I believed I was ready to go and play in the Premier League every week, and I don’t think I would be in this position now if I didn’t do it.”
The 22-year-old is tied down to a contract at the City Ground until 2029, but an improved deal is likely if he keeps going like this.
