Court staff sacked over claims they snooped at killings video

TWO members of staff at Nottingham Crown Court have been sacked over allegations they illegally looked at videos and details of the Nottingham attacks.

The pair were dismissed after an internal investigation into the allegations, the Ministry of Justice has confirmed, but the department did not comment on whether they were likely to face any criminal charges.
Grace O'Malley-Kumar, Barnaby Webber and Ian Coates all lost their lives at the hands of paranoid schizophrenic Valdo Calocane on June 13, 2023.
Their grieving families, who have led a campaign to highlight the failures that led to the stabbings, told the Post they had not been informed by the Ministry of Justice and were horrified by the alleged wrongdoing, adding they would be taking legal advice on the matter.
There has been widespread criticism of a number of agencies involved with Calocane before he went on to kill on the streets of the city, including Nottinghamshire police.
In a statement, a Ministry of Justice spokesperson said: "Our thoughts remain with the families of Ian Coates, Grace O'Malley-Kumar and Barnaby Webber. We take all allegations of wrongdoing incredibly seriously and do not hesitate to take action where appropriate. Following an internal review, two further individuals.
