REFRESHING CHANGE FOR FAMILY BUILDING FIRM

- By LYNETTE PINCHESS

LOCALS have welcomed the arrival of a new coffee shop, saying service is friendly and the lovely decor has a "touch of class

ROK Coffee House is the latest haunt for coffee and cake in West Bridgford.

As well as coffee from Nottingham’s 200 Degree roastery, the café is serving loose leaf tea from Bird & Blend, plus beer, wine and cocktails. The family-run business, in Melton Road, has space for 30 inside, with a range of two-seater tables, high stools for perching and pods with sockets for laptop working.

Country garden cakes decorated with pretty edible flowers, lemon and pistachio blondies, raspberry and almond cakes, and pistachio crème cookies are amongst the sweet treats on sale.

Gluten-free customers are looked after with bakes from Dottie’s, which used to have a café in Arnold.

But if you want to keep it healthier, then fruit-packed smoothies from Jo Meadows’ Nutrition are available.
