£20m fund is 'opportunity to make a difference' in Clifton

AS one of Nottingham's most deprived areas, Clifton has had its share of struggles - but that could all be about to change.

£20 million in funding is confirmed for the area from the government, handed out in instalments over the next decade money that will transform the area.

The "Pride In Place" scheme, announced in September, allows communities to transform their areas, from reviving high streets to rejuvenating playing fields and public spaces.

Clifton was chosen by the government as a pilot for the scheme, with a board formed in March 2025. The first tranche of funding is due to be issued in April.
