Saltlines, a project by Gigspanner Big Band and author Raynor Winn, comes to The Plough Arts Centre in Great Torrington
To mark the release of the film version of The Salt Path, Raynor Winn and the Gigspanner Big Band are bringing Saltlines to each of the four counties the South West Coast Path traverses, and on Saturday, May 3, they arrive at The Plough Arts Centre.
Featuring some of the most influential and celebrated names on the British folk scene, Saltlines is a prose and music odyssey created by folk supergroup The Gigspanner Big Band and best selling author, Raynor Winn.
A spokesman said: “Through rejuvenated folk song and original prose, Saltlines reaches into the rich and visceral history of the South West coast to celebrate the area’s beauty and enduring traditions, and with a gentle hand considers the social and environmental issues that face not only coastal communities, but the world at large.
