Bideford end their long wait for a victory

BIDEFORD won for the first time since week two of the B Division season when they pulled off an unexpected four-wicket victory over Bovey Tracey 2nd XI.
At first glance it looks like a routine run-chase completed with more than five overs to spare. Not a bit of it. When Bideford were four wickets down with eight runs on the board in the sixth over, a target of 188 to win seemed a long way away. Two wickets each for Chris Yabsley (3-15) and Harry Pitman did the damage.
Skipper Jack Ford (41) and Josh King (36) repaired the damage during a fifth-wicket stand of 87, which ended when King was well caught at short extra-cover by a diving Bradley Causey off Sam Veal (2-39).
