(RNS, 03-05-25) A sparkling fifty by Abhishek Sharma has kept Sunrisers Hyderabad's hopes alive of chasing down 225 against Gujarat Titans in their IPL clash in Ahmedabad on Friday.

Abhishek lost his opening partner Travis Head for 20 off 16 balls, caught brilliantly by Rashid Khan off Prasidh Krishna. Prasidh then turned catcher to snap up an Ishan Kishan top edge at third man off Gerald Coetzee. Ishan had laboured to 13 off 17 balls. Abhishek reached his fifty off 28 balls with a six off Coetzee over long leg.
Earlier, swashbuckling fifties by Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler powered Gujarat Titans to a massive 224/6. GT openers Gill and Sai Sudharsan continued their rich vein of form with an 87-run opening stand in just 6.5 overs.
Sudharsan smacked 48 off just 23 balls before being caught by wicket keeper Heinrich Klaasen off Zeeshan Ansari as he opened the face of his bat and tried to guide the ball to third man.
