Funding grows but M&As hit
Mint Mumbai
|October 23, 2023
Private equity and venture capital deals continued to rise, though last week saw only a slight jump in terms of deal value as compared to the week before.
Deal volume, on the other hand, rebounded to one of the highest in 2023, thus marking a continued rise in the overall deal activity in October.
However, in an uncharacteristic occurrence, mergers and acquisition activity dropped significantly last week, to the lowest recorded numbers in 2023.
Last week saw startups securing $310 million, on the back of a growth stage funding round by a manufacturing services unicorn as well as a couple of mid-size venture capital deals in the financial services space, a 17% increase from the week before wherein the total deal value was $265 million.
