FIR against Hero MotoCorp over fake billing allegations

Complaint by "disgruntled" services provider on old matter, case is sub-judice, says Hero
The Delhi Police on Monday registered a first information report (FIR) against Hero MotoCorp Ltd for allegedly issuing counterfeit invoices for 16 crore following the termination of a contract with a service provider. The two-wheeler maker is also accused of cheating the income tax department by claiming tax credits against the forged bills.
The FIR traces back to a complaint lodged in 2021 by Brains Logistics Pvt. Ltd. The matter is sub-judice.
Hero MotoCorp is also facing heightened scrutiny from tax authorities and the Enforcement Directorate, which led to raids at Hero MotoCorp's corporate headquarters and chairman Pawan Munjal's residence.
In fact, over the past year and a half, the company has been grappling with various allegations of money laundering and tax evasion and is being investigated by multiple agencies.
