Former Chief Justice of India Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud, in a legal opinion issued to Vedanta Ltd, has strongly condemned a report by US short-seller Viceroy Research Group, terming it "defamatory," "lacking credibility," and an instance of market manipulation designed to unlawfully profit from a fall in share prices.
