The Index of Industrial Production rose 3.2% in December, down from 5% the previous month
India's retail inflation eased to a five-month low in January, driven by a slower increase in food prices, according to provisional government data released on Wednesday.
Retail inflation, based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was at 4.31% in January, down from a 5.22% rise in December and below the 5.48% in November and 5.10% a year ago, ministry of statistics and programme implementation (MoSPI) data showed.
Meanwhile, India's industrial output growth slowed in December after hitting a four-month high in November. The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) rose 3.2%, down from 5% the previous month, according to the latest estimates released by MoSPI.
