VVDN seeks govt sops for electronic component mfg

Electronic component manufacturer VVDN Technologies is gearing up to invest upward of $100 million in facilities such as displays and printed circuit boards and has applied for the government’s new incentive scheme for the same, a senior company executive said.

The company has applied for ECMS component subsidy, said Vivek Bansal_co-founder and president VVDN Technologies.

The 18-year-old company sees exponential growth opportunity due to the scale of India’s electronics market, as a result of which it hopes to ramp up its portfolio in the country, Vivek Bansal, co-founder and president of VVDN Technologies, said on the sidelines of the India Mobile Congress.
Bansal said the firm has applied for the electronics component manufacturing scheme (ECMS) for component subsidy, which will make a significant difference in terms of the returns to capital expenditure that it plans to make.
Plans include PCBs and display manufacturing, expanding to imported parts like capacitors and resistors
