Nasscom urges member cos to bring H-1B staff back to US as visa fee hike deadline looms

Nasscom has urged its member companies to ensure H-1B employees currently outside the US return immediately, ahead of the steep hike in visa application fees that comes into effect on September 21.

The US move raises the annual H-1B fee from current $2,000-$5,000 range to $100,000.
Shivendra Singh, Vice President of Nasscom, said on Saturday the association has advised member firms to act swiftly. “We've recommended our member companies that they should make efforts to get their employees who are outside the US to return before the 21st of September,” he said, noting the short notice provided.
