The region, already vulnerable due to prior land subsidence, witnessed wall cracks and partial evacuations last month.

SEOC officials confirmed that four people were rescued alive in Kuntari Lagaphali, including two women and a child, and one person in Dhurma. Twelve residents sustained injuries during the incident. Those with serious injuries, including the child, were airlifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) in Rishikesh for treatment.

The two bodies recovered were identified as Narendra Singh (38) from Kuntari Lagaphali and Jagdamba Prasad (70) from Kuntari Lagasarpani. Search operations are ongoing for six missing individuals— four from Kuntari Lagaphali, one from Kuntari Lagasarpani, and one from Dhurma.
