BJP appeases RSS, appoints Sangh-linked individuals to key positions

In a move seen as a bid to quell dissatisfaction within its ideological parent, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh has made significant appointments of Sangh-affiliated individuals to important commissions, corporations and boards.

Notably, 40% of the positions in the Other Backward Classes (OBC) Commission and Scheduled Castes (SC) Commission of the state are now occupied by individuals with a background in the RSS.
