After a long wait, Apache helicopters for Indian Army to arrive within weeks

After a prolonged wait, the Indian Army is finally expected to receive the first batch of AH-64E Apache attack helicopters, originally scheduled for mid-2023.
Sources familiar with the development suggest the helicopters could arrive within weeks, marking a key milestone for the Army Aviation Corps' operational preparedness along the western border.
The Army's first Apache squadron, based in Jodhpur, was formally established in March 2024. However, it has been awaiting the actual induction of helicopters ever since. "The squadron was raised well in advance, but the delay in deliveries left us without the platforms," a senior Army official said.
