Dog owner pleaded guilty to neglect

AN EMACIATED dog who was left in a horrific condition by her neglectful owner has now fortunately recovered.

Female bull breed Mia was handed into rescue charity Hope Rescue, based in Llanharan, last year while she was extremely underweight and covered in pressure sores.
Following a successful appeal for information which identified a possible owner, the organisation contacted the RSPCA and Mia's owner was identified.
It saw him plead guilty to one offence under the Animal Welfare Act in that he caused unnecessary suffering by failing to adequately investigate and address her weight loss and poor body condition.
He was sentenced to 12 weeks’ custody which was suspended for 12 months.
