Torre: 94% of 911 calls responded to within 5 minutes

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has responded to 94 percent of over 3,500 calls to 911 emergency hotline in the past two months within five minutes, the country's top cop, Gen. Nicolas Torre III said on Monday, Aug. 12, as he showcased the quick response to President Marcos during the 124th Police Service Anniversary celebration at Camp Crame in Quezon City.

The five-minute police response was launched on the day Torre assumed the PNP's top post on June 2 and as of Aug. 10, he said a total of 3,574 calls were received by the PNP Emergency 911 Command Center.

"Of the 3,574 calls to 911 requiring police assistance, we responded to almost 94 percent within five minutes. That is more than nine calls out of 10," said Torre in his speech.
