The demon came out of him

While angels are “ministering spirits sent to serve, for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation” (Heb 1:14), devils are humans’ enemies, “prowling around like a roaring lion looking for [someone] to devour” (1 Pt 5:8).

The harm of the demon is shown in the possessed person: He suffers severely; often he falls into fire, and often into the water.

Angels love human beings, guard them, and represent them before God’s throne, while devils hate humans, are jealous of them, and seek the destruction of their body and soul. Devils are spirits and so are powerful. Even if the disciples are given the authority by Jesus to cast out demons, in one instance in the Gospel, they are not able to cure the possessed man.
