Meralco electricity bills down in May

This would mean a price cut from P13.0127/kWh in April to P12.2628/ kWh in May, Meralco executives said in a press briefing on Tuesday, May 13.

Residential consumers who consumed 200 kWh will see a reduction of P150; those with a 300-kWh consumption would see a decline of P225; consumption of 400 kWh would decrease electricity bills by P300; while those with a 500-kWh consumption would have a price slash of P375.

Joe Zaldarriaga, Meralco’s vice president and head of corporate communications, said that this month’s rate adjustment was “due to lower generation and transmission charges.”
