Mayor Isko optimistic about a prosperous 2026 for Manila

Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno" Domagoso expressed optimism for a more prosperous 2026 as he delivered his New Year's message during the city’s first flag raising ceremony for the year at the Manila City Hall on Monday, Jan. 5.
Domagoso said the city government was entering the new year with renewed hope after overcoming a series of economic challenges in 2025 that tested both the local government and its workforce.
"Today, I am still grateful to God. Salamat sa Diyos na naitawid natin ang 2025 (Thank God we were able to get through 2025), but I’m hopeful that 2026 will bring prosperity to the people of Manila and to our city government," Domagoso said.
