Ranking House of Representatives members said the filing of an impeachment complaint against President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. would only make a mockery out of the 1987 Constitution.
Deputy Speaker La Union first district Rep. Paolo Ortega V, Assistant Majority Leader Lanao del Sur first district Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong, and Committee on Higher and Technical Education Chairman Tingog party-list Rep. Jude Acidre said in separate statements on Sunday and Monday that solid evidence and not political narratives should be the basis of such a complaint.
