I will not reject anyone who comes to me
Manila Bulletin
|May 7, 2025
Unconditional acceptance is hard to come by. But with Jesus, it is always a free offer: those who come to him will never be driven away. Those who accept him and hold on to his words will enter into the dynamics of love that runs between him and his Father.
-
Everyone who comes to Jesus, he receives as the Father's gift, and he loses no one of them. He only does the Father's will: "That I should not lose anything of what he gave me" (v 39). This cycle of love can continue in our lives as we allow the Spirit of Jesus to reign and operate in us.
Then with the dynamism of this love, we will be able to recognize the presence of the Lord in every person we meet and move on further by accepting them as God's gifts. Lord, fill us with your Spirit, so we can welcome others as you welcome us.
First Reading - Acts 8:1b-8
