Alex Eala snared her first main draw Grand Slam win after she and Mexican partner Renata Zarazua escaped the gritty plays of British Emily Appleton and Spaniard Yvonne Cavalle-Reimers, 7-5, 6-4, in the first round of the French Open women's doubles on Tuesday, May 27 (early Wednesday, Philippine time).
The unseeded Eala and Zarazua displayed on-court chemistry and cohesion to advance to the second round and jumpstart their ambitious title campaign.
