Dumaguete safest city to visit in PH – travel survey

The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) cited the recent declaration by the World Travel Index that Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental is the Safest City to Visit in the Philippines in the first half of 2025.
With a high safety score of 81.36 out of 100 percent, Dumaguete outperformed other major cities in the country, including Davao City, which placed second with a score of 80.73.
Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR regional director, commended the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office led by Police Col. Ronan Claravall for its unwavering commitment to maintaining public safety, particularly for tourists visiting the province.
Ibay, in a statement, emphasized that such achievements demonstrate the positive impact of continuous peace and order initiatives not only for locals but also for every traveler who visits Negros Oriental.
