DMCI Holdings profit drops

Manila Bulletin

May 15, 2025

DMCI Holdings Inc. of the Consunji family reported strong growth in its residential, mining, and water businesses in the first quarter of 2025, but this was offset by its coal, construction, and cement units.

- By JAMES A. LOYOLA

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), the firm reported a net income of P5.1 billion in the first quarter of 2025, down nine percent from P5.6 billion in the same period last year.

“The results reflect a mix of stabilizing coal prices and the ongoing integration of its newly acquired cement business in December 2024,” the diversified engineering conglomerate said.

Stronger results from real estate, water, nickel mining, and off-grid power helped cushion the impact and underscored the strength and balance of the group’s diversified portfolio.

“Market conditions today are very different from five years ago, but our businesses have adapted well,” said DMCI Holdings Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Isidro A. Consunji.
