DICT taps Maya for e-payments

H o me - grown fintech Maya has SCAN partnered with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to expand its services to the delivery services sector by offering its platform for digital payments, including licensing, transactions, and rider payouts.

"Through this partnership, Maya will support Private Express and Messengerial Delivery Services (PEMEDES) operators and riders by providing access to 01000 secure digital payments for licensing, transactions, and rider payouts," Maya said in a Nov. 13 statement.
DICT acts as the regulator of PEMEDES, which covers a wide range of delivery personnel, such as motorcycle riders, bikers, van operators, and foot messengers, as well as appbased delivery providers.
