The Department of Education (DepEd) announced on Tuesday, Oct. 7, that qualified teaching and non-teaching personnel will soon receive their 2023 Performance-Based Bonus (PBB), following the approval of their eligibility by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and the A025 Inter-Agency Task Force.

In a joint statement, the agencies noted that the approval marks a major milestone for the education sector, as DepEd earned a total score of 80 points in the national performance assessment-qualifying it for the highest PBB rate of 52 percent of the monthly basic salary.

This represents an increase from the 45.5 percent rate in 2021 and 48.75 percent in 2022, DepEd noted.

A Teacher I with a monthly salary of P27,000 (Salary Grade 11), for instance, is expected to receive around P14,040 as part of the 2023 PBB.
