Rooney changes mind over United boss Amorim

WAYNE Rooney has performed a dramatic U-turn on Ruben Amorim just days after claiming he had no faith in the Manchester United boss.

Rooney has been among the ex-United stars to crank up the pressure on the under-fire head coach following a dreadful start to the season.

There was speculation that Saturday's home game with Sunderland could have been his last if the result went against United, but a 2-0 win appears to have bought him time until after the international break at least.

Speaking ahead of the game on his BBC podcast, Rooney expressed his exasperation at the club's progress, or lack thereof, under Amorim, who has failed to secure back-to-back league wins after almost a year in charge.
