Probe as pensioner dies after care home 'accident'

AN ELDERLY woman tragically died after falling from a care home window, the Manchester Evening News understands.

Emergency services were called to Berrycroft Manor care home, in Romiley, Stockport, at around 7.30am on Monday.

Greater Manchester Police says a 78-year-old woman, who was taken to hospital following a fall, died later in the day. Berrycroft Manor's manager described the incident as a 'tragic accident' and confirmed an investigation was underway.
