BOXER'S LEGACY CAN ENSURE OTHERS DON'T FIGHT MENTAL HEALTH BATTLES ALONE, SAYS FOUNDATION

- By JERRY LAWTON & HELENA VESTY

BOXING champion Ricky Hatton will continue to tackle people’s mental health battles with a charity created in his honour.

The Ricky Hatton Foundation has pledged to carry his ‘spirit forward’ by backing ‘those facing their own fights with mental illness’ and ‘ensuring that no one ever has to face those battles alone!

The boxing icon was found dead at his home in Gee Cross, Hyde, on Sunday, September 14, aged 46. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

The Manchester Evening News has joined forces with the Daily Star in a campaign to continue Ricky Hatton’s legacy regarding men’s mental health.

Following his death we're raising funds for Andy's Man Club and the Campaign Against Living Miserably, two charities that were very close to the former world champion’s heart.
