Warning over use of disposable BBQs

POLICE have warned of the dangers of bringing disposable barbecues into the countryside after finding three men doing just that near Macclesfield.

Officers from Cheshire’s rural crime team discovered the men, from Sheffield, also carrying 'lots of alcohol' at Lamaload Reservoir, Macclesfield Forest, on Friday evening, May 16.

They moved the group on and said it was ‘frustrating’ to see people ignoring the danger of lighting fires.

Sergeant Rob Simpson, from the rural crime team, said: “It is still very, very dry. It is very frustrating, their camp was being set up in the long grass.
