Storm ends plan to renovate historic building

THE MOMENT a historic building fell victim to the power of Storm Eowyn and attempts to extend and renovate it has been captured on camera.

The red-bricked property, which dates from the 1900s, stood on Ashley Road in Hale.
But cracks appeared in the building walls late last week. They got worse after high winds whipped up by the storm on Friday.
The three-storey building, which has been empty for about two years, was last occupied by Atticus bar. Michael Haworth, joint owner of nearby Porters hairdressers, caught the moment it collapsed on yesterday.
