Road closures in place for victory parade and run

Thousands expected to see runners and City celebration

MANCHESTER City players will parade through the streets of the city centre today, to mark becoming the first ever male team since the inception of the Football League in 1888 to win four successive championships.

Players will travel in an open-top bus from the National Football Museum in Cathedral Gardens, along the length of Deansgate.

Manchester City Council is advising that the city centre is expected to be very busy, as the Great Manchester Run is also taking place today and will see tens of thousands of runners take to the streets, with the race finishing on Deansgate. A series of road closures will be in place to facilitate the run - and additional road closures to for the Manchester City Parade will also be necessary, says the council.
