Fitzpatrick wins Valspar title
Los Angeles Times
|March 23, 2026
Matt Fitzpatrick put the disappointment of losing The Players Championship behind him when he birdied the 18th hole from just inside 15 feet to cap off a three-under 68 and win the Valspar Championship by one shot over David Lipsky in Palm Harbor, Fla.
-
Fitzpatrick played bogey-free on a Copperhead course at Innisbrook and prevail in a duel with Lipsky. Fitzpatrick, who missed four birdie chances from inside 10 feet in a seven-hole stretch around the turn, holed a30-foot birdie putt on 15 to take the lead, only for Lipsky — playing in the group behind him—to make a seven-foot birdie on the 14th to catch him.
