Public to have say on impact of traffic measures

The improvement works on the A484 Sandy Road in Llanelli, which were completed last year.

(CARMARTHENSHIRE COUNCIL)

Last summer work was carried out with the aim of reducing “horrendous’ traffic congestion and improving safety on the A484 Sandy Road, which links Llanelli to Burry Port to the west. The road regularly saw traffic clogged up, particularly on the westbound carriageway.

Carmarthenshire Council _intro-duced a dedicated right-turn lane at Sandy Road’s traffic light junction with Maes Y Coed, plus a new advanced stop line for cyclists and a controlled crossing on Maes Y Coed.

It is hoped traffic will now flow more freely, in turn improving air quality.
