Singing the BLUES

FRESH from penning the terrace anthem dedicated to Iliman Ndiaye which has become a firm favourite with Evertonians, Scouse singer-songwriter Ryan Rooney is bringing out a new song to bid farewell to the Blues’ long-time home.
Simply titled ‘Goodison Park,’ his creation is a musical love letter to the Grand Old Lady.
Rooney, from Norris Green, was the creative force behind: “I am in love, I can’t deny, our number 10 his name is Iliman Ndiaye; From Senegal to Bramley-Moore, he's f***ing magic he's the one that we adore. Ole, Ole; Ole, Ola...”
While that ditty is popular in the stands with match-going supporters, the 22-year-old has now put together something more complex for a pivotal moment in the club's history. Rooney told the ECHO: “It's something that I've thought about for quite a while. I just wasn’t sure whether it was best to leave it to go out in all its glory or whether I should produce my own little tribute.
“After a few conversations with my friends, I thought it would be quite fitting. I just had to get the lyrics down and book a studio date.
“I'd say it's more of a romantic type of song. Not like with a relationship, but more my love for the place.
