'Rat activity' discovered at takeaway
Liverpool Echo
|November 22, 2025
A PIZZA takeaway was shut down immediately after inspectors discovered 'rat activity' in several areas of the premises, including food preparation and storage areas, as well as locations containing open food containers.
The decision was taken after a visit by Knowsley Council's Environmental Health Officers on March 11, 2024, where they uncovered 'severe health risks' at Santos Pizza on Market Place in Prescot.
The local authority then pursued a prosecution against the company and its director, Mr Masoud Atbaiga, citing several breaches which posed a 'serious risk to public health.
