IRVINE MEADOW DUMBARTON Pre-season friendly

Medda grab two at the end to keep Dumbarton down

Irvine Meadow netted twice in the final eight minutes to consign 10-man Dumbarton to a fourth defeat of preseason.

In weather that seemed more like November than early July, the home side looked the brighter early on - with Ollie Ecrepont off his line sharply to deny Ross McKenzie one-on-one, before the assistant's flag came to Sons' rescue as McKenzie found a way beyond the Ayr United loanee.

Another Ayr United loanee, latest addition Scott Tomlinson, showed his threat with some incredible pace to win back possession and race clear, but he was denied one-on-one by Medda keeper Barclay.

Just as it looked as if the visitors had started to get a grip of things, they fell behind.
