Warning as gig ticket scams are on the rise

POLICE have issued a warning after concert ticket scammers harassed and threatened a Leicestershire man.

It follows a rise in fraudulent ticket sales on social media.

The man, from Loughborough, fell victim to the scammers in March after paying a “small” amount for tickets, according to police.

The victim was told by the seller that the ticket provider's website was broken and was sent an Apple Wallet pass which was fake. According to officers, the seller then began harassing him for more money and threatened him if he reported the matter to police.
