BRETT Deacon claims Leicester Tigers' greater physicality was the key to their second-half PREM Rugby Cup surge that sent rivals Northampton Saints home empty-handed.
The Tigers' 34-22 win over their East Midlands rivals was their fourth successive cup victory and puts them in control of their group at the competition's halfway stage.
The result means Tigers lead Pool B by seven points from Saracens and Newcastle with the remaining four group games taking place in January and February.
Joaquin Moro (2) and Tom Whiteley scored first-half tries as Tigers led 19-15 at the break at Mattioli Woods Welford Road.
The hosts then dominated after the break with Will Wand and Ollie Allan adding further tries and Billy Searle kicking three conversions and a penalty.
