Stolen £6,000 motorcycle was tracked down to thief's bedroom

OPPORTUNISTIC THEFT FROM VILLAGE - BUT 35-YEAR-OLD DID NOT REALISE TRACKER WAS HIDDEN UNDER ITS SEAT

POLICE investigating a motorbike theft in a village were led to the thief’s home by an Apple AirTag tracker device hidden in the £6,000 bike's seat.

When they arrived at Kieran Bell’s home in Braunstone Town, they found the bike in his bedroom.

Bell appeared at Leicester Magistrates’ Court, where he pleaded guilty to the theft on Tuesday, September 9.

Prosecutor Sukhy Basi told the magistrates: “The victim made a statement to the police that his motorcycle, valued at £6,000, had been stolen overnight.
