Haddon and Adie pull off surprise wins
Leicester Mercury
|October 04, 2025
UNHERALDED runners Alex Adie and Rachel Haddon stole the spotlight in the Markfield 10K road race, writes Geshom Nyathi.
They ran superbly to win the men’s and women's titles in the 10th and penultimate round of the 2025 Leicestershire Road Running League series.
With several top contenders missing, both Adie and Haddon seized their chance with grit and poise.
Adie, a trainee legal practitioner representing Desford Striders, clocked a commanding 33:06 to take the men's crown ahead of a competitive field of 523 finishers.
