Fears over 'unprecedented scale' of energy storage bid

MP WARNS OF IMPACT OF PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
AN MP has voiced his concerns over a proposed development on a scale which "has never been constructed in the UK".
Alberto Costa, Conservative MP for South Leicestershire, describes Enderby Energy's plans for a battery energy storage system (BESS) on 203 acres at Lambcote Hill Farm, Walcote, as contributing to "gross overdevelopment".
Outline plans have also been submitted to Harborough District Council for a transmission substation on the site, which along with necessary infrastructure, would span the equivalent of 115 full-size football pitches.
