A 'fantastic journey' starts here for title-winning Foxes

LEICESTERSHIRE head coach Alfonso Thomas is confident his team is embarking on a “fantastic journey” after they lifted the Rothesay County Championship Division Two trophy at the weekend.

A “phenomenal season” for Thomas and his players was crowned with a 167-run victory over Northamptonshire at Wantage Road. The Foxes had already been confirmed as title winners before the game started, but Thomas was delighted with the performance.

“I wanted the guys to keep driving the standards,” he said.

“I wanted to play this game as if it was the first game of the season, but I can only do that if the players were on board with us, and they were 100 per cent on board.”
